Paul Alton Lyter Sr., 89, of Mechanicsburg, PA passed away Friday, July 5, 2019, at his home surrounded by his loving family.  Born October 14, 1929 in West Fairview PA, he was 1 of 7 children of the late Albert and Pauline (Wilbar) Lyter.

Paul served honorably in the United States Air Force for 21 years, followed by a career in the United States Postal Service as a mail carrier for 22 years assigned to the Camp Hill Post Office.

Paul was an avid sports fan and loved watching baseball, especially the New York Yankees. For many years he umpired and officiated a variety of adult recreational leagues within the local communities.

Paul was a member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Lemoyne, PA and he and Barbara regularly attended the Thursday evening services.

Paul is survived and loved by his wife of 25 years, Barbara (Reeser) Lyter; children, Paul (Patty) Lyter Jr, Stephen (Cindy) Lyter, Adam Lyter, Matthew Lyter, Andrew Lyter; and step-children, John (Diana) Reeser, and Scott Reeser; brothers, Albert, Donald; sister, Audrey; several grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sisters, Madeline, Nancy; and brother, Richard.

A committal service with full military honors will be held Friday, July 12, 2019, 2:30PM, at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville, PA.
