Eleanor J. Hamm, 93, of Camp Hill, passed away March 11, 2019, at home. Born October 12, 1925, in Oroville, CA, she was daughter of Rev. A. Thorvald Johnson and Julia H. Johnson.

Eleanor graduated from the Julius Hartt School of Music of the University of Hartford, Hartford, CT. She played French horn in the Hartford Symphony Orchestra and was Director for 50 years of the Camp Hill Women’s Club Choir. She was a member of the Camp Hill Presbyterian Church for 62 years and sang in the choir for 50 years. Eleanor sang in many local vocal ensembles, taught music theory at HACC, was a member of Susquehanna Consort, sang in Grantham Oratorio Society, and played French horn in the CHPC Brass Choir. Her favorite pastimes included sewing, painting, cross stitch, sailing, and golf.

Surviving are her beloved husband of 68 years, Thomas B. Hamm; sister, Constance Youndt; daughter, Sandra Bogden; son, Bradford (Kathy) Hamm; grandchildren, Amanda Bogden, Amy Bogden, Eric Bogden, Matthew Hamm, Kristin Zeigler, Lucas Hamm, and great-granddaughter, Madison Zeigler. She was predeceased by a brother, Gilbert Johnson.

A memorial service will be held Monday, March 18, 2019, 11:00 AM at Camp Hill Presbyterian Church, 101 North 23rd Street, Camp Hill, PA 17011. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Homeland Hospice or Camp Hill Presbyterian Church. Following the service there will be a reception at the home of Thomas and Eleanor.
