Professor Joseph E. DeCamp ('Ned'), native of State College, PA born April 12, 1935-Died October 24, 2010.

He was preceded in death by Joseph E. DeCamp, Sr. (Father); Doretta Miller DeCamp (Mother); and Maryanne DeCamp (Sister).

He was survived by his wife of 52 years, Danielle DeCamp; and 3 sons, Michel DeCamp (Suzanne), Joel DeCamp (Karen), and Andre DeCamp; sister, Linda DeCamp; and grand children, Justin DeCamp, and Alexis DeCamp.

Ned held a BA and an MA from Penn State and was a professor of foreign languages at Oswego State University (1959-1966) and Millersville University (1966-1989). Ned was a dedicated, inspiring, dynamic, demanding and very fair professor of Spanish, Spanish Literature and French. After his retirement in 1989, Ned became very interested in Amish culture and was a guide for Brunswick Tours and also worked at the Amish Farm and House.

Since 1960, Ned was a member of the Barbershop Harmony Society and a member of the Lancaster Red Rose Chorus since 1966. Ned sang in numerous barbershop quartets that performed in the area, including 'Gopher Baroque', 'The High Mileage Four' and most recently 'On the Way Out'.

Ned was an avid, skilled golfer since his early youth and carried a single digit handicap for most of his life. He and his wife Danielle loved to travel and in their various trips visited 22 countries. Ned was very fond of animals and had dogs and cats as pets throughout his life.

The family will conduct a private memorial ceremony.
