Edwin Mace Robinson, 81, of Middletown, passed away Monday, June 13, 2011, at the M.S. Hershey Medical Center. Born August 24, 1929, at Rockhill near Laceyville, PA, he was son of the late Frank O. and Eva (Mace) Robinson.

Ed attended school in Jenningsville, PA. He worked in farming with his father until he was drafted by the U.S. Army. For his military training he was sent to Camp Chaffee in AR and was then shipped overseas to Korea in1951 where he served with the C-Co. 38th Infantry Division. Ed received the Purple Heart-Combat Infantry Badge and was honorably discharged in 1952. Recently, he was awarded the Korean Service Medal from the Korean government.
He began a career as a truck driver following his time in the service until his retirement in 1991 from Fruehauf Corp.

Mr. Robinson was a life member of the American Legion Post #510, Laceyville, VFW Post #1620, Middletown, and the Central States Teamsters Union # 776. He was also a member of Geyer's United Methodist Church and enjoyed woodworking, baseball, and especially seeing his grandchildren at their sporting events.

Surviving are his wife of 59 years, Letha (Salsman) Robinson; a son, Paul Robinson and his companion Sharon Bublo; a daughter, Leslie, wife of Chris Hughes; 5 grandchildren, Doug, Nicole, Dennis, Dagen, and Ryan; his sister, Roberta LaFrance, and 7 great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Dennis Robinson.

A memorial service will be held Friday, June 17, 2011, 11:00 am at Geyer's United Methodist Church, 1605 South Geyer's Church Road, Middletown, PA 17057 with Rev. Don Walters officiating. Visitation at the church will be from 10-11am. Private burial will be at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to his church or to the Lebanon VA Medical Center, 1700 South Lincoln Ave, Lebanon, PA 17042.
