Music by The Piano Brothers

Troy “Moonie” Murray, 58, entered the gates of Heaven on Wednesday, May 1, 2019, in Harrisburg.

Troy was born November 21, 1960, in Norfolk, Virginia. Although he resided in Corolla, NC the last several years working as head chef at Uncle Ike’s Sandbar and Grill, he was raised and lived the majority of his life in Harrisburg, PA. Troy was a Veteran of the Marine Corps before moving on to his passion and lifelong career as a chef. He was a lover of all things sports related, with a special place in his heart for the Boston Celtics and his beloved Dallas Cowboys. He also loved music and had always been the first one to hop on the dance floor or jump on the microphone to sing karaoke. He had a witty, sarcastic sense of humor and a “never give up” attitude.  He was a hardworking man whose number one prize in life was his family. He was an intensely loved father and husband and will be greatly missed by all those who were fortunate enough to know him.

Troy was preceded in death by his mother, Doris Lee Martin; his father, Gary Murray; and his sister, Tracy Murray. He is survived by his partner in life and in love, Dolores Ramberger; his three children, Joseph (Ashley), Lindsay, and his “babygirl”, Chelsea; the loves of his life (his four grandchildren) Connor, Aria, Adeline, and Maxwell; his two brothers, Jeff (Sherry) and Marty (Jen); his sister, Danyelle (Paul), as well as nephews, nieces, and cousins.

Troy will be laid to rest with a full military burial at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery during a private service for his family at a later date. Family, friends, and others whose lives Troy impacted are welcome to attend a “Celebration of Life” memorial at Mr. G’s Sports Bar at 3745 N. 6th Street in Harrisburg from 2-5pm on May 11, 2019.
