M. Frances Carter, 88, of Harrisburg, passed away Monday, December 31, 2018, at Manor Care – Carlisle.
Born March 9, 1930, she was a daughter of the late Will and Frances Stout.
She was a very active member in her community and church. She enjoyed spending time with her family, reading, singing, and shopping.
Surviving are her sons, Donald Keith Towles (Rhonda) of CA and Kenneth Towles of PA; daughters, Kimberly Elliott (Dannie), Yolonda Mitchell, and Krista Towles all of PA; step-son, Charles Carter (Melanie) of CA; step-daughters, Rosline Carter of PA and Denise Hossack (Paul) of Australia; daughter-in-law, Anita Carter of UT; 12 grandchildren; and a host of great-grand and great great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Robert Carter; granddaughter, Christina Mitchell; grandson, Christopher Carter; and step-son, Phillip Carter.
A Memorial Mass will be held Friday, January 11, 2019, 12:00PM, at Holy Name of Jesus, 6150 Allentown Blvd, Harrisburg, PA 17112. Visitation will be 11:00AM-12:00PM at the church.

Ms Fran you will be truly missed you were a remarkable woman. My son had such love and respect for you. Holy Name choir has truly lost a valued member of the choir, however The Lord’s choir of angels has gained a beautiful angel with a sweet heavenly voice, and I another guardian angel. I will miss you Ms Fran as will many others, Holy Name’s children will miss you as well. R.I.P my dear friend. Remember to save me a place in heaven till we meet again.
